Program Information

The fall Girls on the Run program will start August 23rd.  Program locations and times can be found here.

Our season will end on November 13th with the girls participating in a New Balance Girls on the Run 5K Run/Walk in Bidwell Park at 9am.  All girls will run/walk with a ‘running buddy’ to help with pacing and motivation.  This running buddy can be a family member, friend, or one of our volunteers.  More information about running buddies will be distributed when the program starts.

Registration Policies from Girls on the Run International

According to Girls on the Run policy, no more than 15 girls can be on a ‘team’ and a certified coach must lead each team. With two certified coaches, Girls on the Run of Butte County will be able to offer two programs/’teams’ in the fall of 2010, serving 30 girls.  One of these programs/’teams’ will be at Sierra View Elementary and the other will be at Notre Dame School. We plan to open the program to more schools in the spring, dependent on coaching availability.

Registration Process

Registration will be held at Sierra View Elementary on Tuesday, August 10th at 6pm and at Notre Dame School on Wednesday, August 18th at 3pm.  Registration forms and payment will be accepted first-come, first-served. All registration forms will be reviewed upon acceptance for completeness and numbered (1-x). Forms over #15 will be placed on the wait list.

If you are unable to attend registration at your child’s school, we will also be accepting registration forms via U.S. postal mail beginning August 11 (Sierra View) and August 19 (Notre Dame).  Our address is:
